The bench advertising business in Salmon Arm was created by Les Demeter, who also owned Mt. Ida Fabricators at the time, back when Salmon Arm's Transit System first began!  The transit company came to him looking for a place for transit users to sit while they waited for the local transit.  Les created benches that would fill this need and create an opportunity for local businesses to advertise!  He was the one that fabricated the dozens of aluminum benches you see everyday!

 

Les passed away in November 1999 and the business was purchased by his son in law Barry Siebenga (founder of BigSteelBox.com).  At that time few benches were added to locations looking for nice benches even though they were not on the transit route, adding more places for people to enjoy them and businesses to advertise.

 

In November of 2007, my husband and I took over the business.  Les Demeter was my Grandpa and we are proud to carry on his legacy by providing benches and advertising opportunities for you!
